Our Purpose

Āwhitu Collective is a community-led initiative on the Āwhitu Peninsula dedicated to bringing people together.  By fostering shared connections, the group works to build resilience and enhance overall wellbeing for everyone in the area. 

At its heart, we’re here to help communities grow strong and independent. We do that by offering practical, whole-of-life solutions that look after people’s wellbeing, build local skills, and care for the environment we all share.

We especially keep an eye out for those going through tough financial times, while also building systems and skills that ripple out to help the whole community.

A thriving, self-determining collective, who are well connected to the local community, while building strong alliances with others., where self determination is not a philosophy but a lived reality

A place where people have real choices outside the mainstream, in health and wellbeing, in learning, and in how they live, while respecting the Ancestral Right and with recognition of all ethnicities and cultures.

We are actively creating abundant and harmonious communities for all people guided by our Tikanga of Tika, Pono me te Aroha (The Right way, in Truth and Integrity and with Love and Compassion)

We’re building it one project, one workshop, one conversation at a time for future generations.
